A project started in 2013 when a Canadian met a Moroccan and started an amazing friendship.

The company Moroccan Footsteps  SARL. was started as an adventure and unique tourism company offering exclusive, out of the ordinary guided tours of this amazing country.

After a few years the idea of opening our own kasbah or riad came into being and the search began! From city to coast to mountain top until this kasbah in the Valley of the Roses was decided on.

It offered the history and authenticity we were looking for with the enviroment and location that tourist would appreciate.

Research by Houcine to find local artisans that still practiced the ancient bulding techniques along with Michelle’s architectural know-how to incorporate structural integrity and modern nessecities like flush toilets and cell phone charging stations made for a great working partnership.

Kasbah Tiziri was born from the moonlight (tiziri) over the valley and the red earth of the Sahara.
